The Call of Chrismathulu
Well, as of 11/6, the two “light rock” stations in Kansas City have switched to Christmas music full time. That pretty much guarantees two months of mediocre music (which is not new for these stations) with what seems like 6 songs to choose between (which is a few less than the other 10 months).
It’s so agitatng; when I was young, two weeks of xmas celebrations was all I could handle followed by a serious post-holiday depression, which is not easy on a 6 year old. Unfortunately I have not grown to need to consume more xmas as an adult. Yes I enjoy thanksgiving, and I enjoy christmas, and I appreciate spending time with family. Why do I have to have that small, special time of year extended into an entire season? What’s perhaps most bothersome is that there are people that want christmas to be 60 days long. Are things that desperate?
